Don't think you have time to get organized? Do you have 5 minutes? If you take it one small area at a time, and spend just 5 minutes on it, you can get organized!
How to organize your pet supplies in 5 minutes
1. Gather together all of your pet's things in one place.
Your kitchen or dining room table can be a good work surface. Get the leashes out of the car, get the bones out of the living room, find the blankies in the dryer, pull all the kibble out of the pantry.
2. Throw out anything that is old, expired, or just plain icky.
Old medicines should not be saved - they could harm your pet. Expired samples of new kitty treats: ditto.
3. Get real about what your pet really needs.
How many leashes does Fluffy own? How many does she really need? Have you bought your friend Finny 3 new castles? How many does he really use? Consider donating the surplus to your local pet shelter or rescue group - those pets need your help!
4. Put everything back where it belongs.
Take just a minute to think about where would be the best place for each item. Maybe Killer needs one leash in the car and one near the back door. Maybe Lady's canned food, along with a dedicated can opener, would go best in the cabinet right by her bowl. What would make your life - and your pet's life - the best and easiest it can be? Resist the temptation to leave everything out on the table where it is right now. 1 minute spent right now putting stuff away will save you hours later on looking for lost items.
You got your pet supplies organized - nice job. Now, take some time to enjoy the love of your furry/feathered/finny/scaly friend!
